NearBuddy Account Deletion Policy

NAMAVI TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED
Website: https://near-buddy.com
Account deletion page: https://near-buddy.com/delete-account

Effective Date: as defined in Section 3.
Last Updated: as defined in Section 26.

1. Purpose and scope

This Account Deletion Policy explains how you can permanently delete your NearBuddy account, what happens to your data and content when you do, and how deletion interacts with an active paid benefit and with your app-store subscription. It applies to the NearBuddy mobile application and the NearBuddy website, and it is the public account-deletion information for NearBuddy. It should be read together with the NearBuddy Privacy Policy, the NearBuddy Terms & Conditions, the NearBuddy Payment & Subscription Terms, and the NearBuddy Refund & Cancellation Policy.

2. Who operates NearBuddy

NearBuddy is operated by NAMAVI TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, whose registered office is DOOR NO: 13/350, MALIYEKKAL, MADAKKATHARA P O, THRISSUR, KERALA – 680651, INDIA. You can contact us as set out in Section 19.

3. Effective Date and Last Updated

"Effective Date" means the date and time on which functional in-app account deletion first becomes publicly available to NearBuddy users through any officially released version of the NearBuddy app.

Publishing this Policy on the official website before that date does not by itself activate the account-deletion service or create a different Effective Date. From the Effective Date, all account-deletion, data-removal, active-paid-benefit, unavailable-chat, non-recovery, and related conditions in this Policy apply. A later release of NearBuddy on another store or platform does not create or reset the Effective Date. The initial "Last Updated" date is the Effective Date; if this Policy is later revised, the "Last Updated" date becomes the date of that revision (see Section 26).

4. How to delete your account in the app

Your NearBuddy account is anonymous, and you are signed in on your device without an email address, phone number, or password. Because you are already signed in, you can delete your account yourself, directly in the app: open the app while signed in and tap the Delete Account control. This authenticated in-app session is how NearBuddy confirms that the account being deleted is yours. This self-service, in-app route is the normal way to delete your NearBuddy account.

5. The confirmation popup and immediate deletion

When you tap Delete Account, a single confirmation popup appears immediately. It clearly explains that:

  • account deletion is permanent;
  • your account data and content will be removed;
  • deleted data cannot be restored;
  • if you have an active paid benefit, how that is handled (see Sections 10–12);
  • tapping Confirm starts the deletion immediately.

The popup offers a clear Confirm action and a Cancel action. If you tap Cancel, nothing is deleted and your account continues normally. If you tap Confirm, deletion begins immediately. NearBuddy does not ask for any additional verification and does not add any waiting period or cancellation window: there is no email, phone, one-time-code, or password step, and no support ticket or manual approval is required.

6. What deletion means

Deleting your account is permanent and immediate. Once you confirm, your NearBuddy account and its data and content are removed as described below, and this cannot be undone.

7. What is deleted immediately

When you confirm deletion and your account has no active paid benefit at that time, NearBuddy permanently deletes your account and all associated personal data and user content immediately. This includes your profile information, your photos and other media, your location information, your preferences, your likes, dislikes, matches, blocks, reports, and referrals, and your messages and conversation content, along with any other personal data and user content associated with your account.

No user content is kept on NearBuddy's servers after deletion. NearBuddy does not retain your profile data, photos or media, location data, preferences, interaction data, recoverable messages or conversation content, or any user-facing identity data, and does not keep any data for the purpose of restoring, recovering, rebinding, migrating, transferring, or historically reinstating your account. The only exceptions are the limited, non-content items described in Sections 8–11.

8. Messages and chat after deletion

When you permanently delete your account, the people you previously messaged can no longer see your messages or anything that identifies you. The other participant does not see any of your prior message content, your name, your profile photo, or your profile details, and any attachments, media, and message text from you no longer remain visible or recoverable. The conversation can no longer be used as an active chat with you.

9. "This chat is unavailable"

For the other participant, a former conversation with you may remain only as a simple, non-content marker that displays a message such as "This chat is unavailable." This marker exists only to let the other person know that the conversation can no longer be used. It is not your content: it contains no message text, no photos or media, no name, no profile information, and no recoverable personal data, and it cannot be used to restore any message, conversation, or account.

10. If you have an active paid benefit

If your account has an active, already-purchased paid benefit (such as an active Ad-Free Subscription) at the time you confirm deletion, NearBuddy still deletes your account and content immediately. Your user-facing account is removed at once, and your personal data and user content — including your profile visibility, discovery access, messaging access, photos, profile information, location information, preferences, and other account data — are deleted immediately, exactly as described in Sections 7–9.

The only thing NearBuddy keeps in this situation is the absolute minimum record needed to preserve and administer your already-paid benefit until the end of the paid benefit period that was already active at the time you confirmed deletion. This minimum record contains no user content: it holds no messages, photos, profile data, location data, identity-display data, or other recoverable content. It cannot be used to sign in, use the app, view a profile, message, appear in discovery, or restore the deleted account, and it does not transfer, rebind, or migrate your benefit to any other account.

Deleting your account does not, by itself, refund your purchase, and NearBuddy does not automatically cancel your store subscription unless the applicable app store does so (see Section 13).

11. The minimum record kept until your paid benefit expires

The minimum benefit record described in Section 10 exists only until the end of the paid benefit period that was already active when you confirmed deletion. This cutoff is fixed at the moment you confirm deletion: any later store renewal, billing, or subscription continuation after your account is deleted does not extend how long this record is kept, does not restore your deleted account, does not give access through the deleted account, and does not transfer or rebind the benefit to any other account. The record is limited to what is necessary to honour the benefit you already paid for, contains no user content, and cannot be used to access, use, or restore your account.

12. Final deletion when the paid benefit expires

At the end of that already-active paid benefit period, NearBuddy permanently deletes the remaining minimum benefit record immediately. After that point, no account record, entitlement record, personal data, identity data, or user content associated with your account remains. The only item that may still exist is the non-content "This chat is unavailable" marker described in Section 9, which contains no recoverable personal data or user content and cannot be used to restore your account or any conversation.

13. Your store subscription — cancellation and refunds are separate

Deleting your NearBuddy account does not by itself cancel a Google Play or Apple App Store subscription, and does not by itself create or guarantee a refund. Your subscription is billed and managed by the applicable app store. If you do not want your subscription to renew, you must manage or cancel auto-renewal separately through your Google Play or Apple account subscription settings. Refunds and cancellations of charges are controlled by the applicable app store under its policies and applicable law.

You do not need to cancel your store subscription before deleting your NearBuddy account — deletion is available to you immediately. But if you want to stop future charges, please cancel the subscription with the app store as well, because account deletion alone will not stop store billing. If your subscription renews after you have deleted your account, that later renewal does not extend the limited record described in Sections 10–12, does not restore or provide access to your deleted account, and does not transfer the benefit to any other account; to prevent future charges you must cancel auto-renewal separately through your Google Play or Apple account.

14. No account recovery or restoration

Account deletion is permanent. After you confirm:

  • your account cannot be restored;
  • your deleted content, messages, photos, and profile data cannot be restored;
  • your account cannot be rebound, migrated, or transferred;
  • the minimum paid-benefit record described above cannot be used to restore your account;
  • an active or unexpired paid benefit cannot be transferred to a new account;
  • NearBuddy provides no mechanism to recover or historically restore a deleted anonymous account.

15. No transfer, rebinding, or migration of entitlement

A paid benefit is bound to the specific anonymous account that purchased it, and it is not transferable. Deleting your account does not move, rebind, migrate, or reissue that benefit to another account, and creating a new account does not carry a previous account's benefit forward.

16. Deletion is different from uninstalling, logging out, hard exit, and cancelling a subscription

Please note that the following are separate actions with different effects, and only a confirmed permanent account deletion (Sections 4–5) triggers the deletion described in this Policy:

  • Uninstalling the app removes the app from your device but is not the same as deleting your account.
  • Losing access to your anonymous account (for example, by clearing app data or changing devices) is not a deletion, and a lost account cannot be recovered.
  • Logging out or leaving the app does not delete your account.
  • A "Safe Hard Exit" or hiding your profile, where offered, is not the same as permanent deletion.
  • Cancelling a store subscription stops future renewal but does not delete your account.

17. Creating a new account after deletion

Deleting your account does not create any right to restore it. A deleted account cannot be recovered, and if you use NearBuddy again you will be using a new, separate account. Any waiting rule that may apply to a newly created account before it can begin or receive an initial benefit is a separate product rule and is unrelated to account deletion; it does not restore, continue, or carry over a deleted account or any benefit from it.

18. The public account-deletion page

You can also find account-deletion information on our public page at https://near-buddy.com/delete-account. That page explains how to use the in-app Delete Account control, the consequences of deletion, and how an active paid benefit is handled, and it provides namavitech@gmail.com if you need help. The normal way to delete your account is the authenticated, self-service Delete Account control inside the app. The support email is only for assistance; because accounts are anonymous, NearBuddy cannot identify and delete an account from an unverified email request, so email is not the standard deletion method.

22. Relationship with the Payment & Subscription Terms

23. Governing law

This Policy shall be governed by the laws of India.

24. Dispute resolution

The parties shall first make a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute amicably.

25. Jurisdiction

26. Last Updated

The "Last Updated" date of this Policy is the Effective Date for this initial version. If this Policy is later revised, the "Last Updated" date becomes the date of that revision. The Effective Date as defined in Section 3 continues to apply to the original Policy unless a revision expressly states otherwise.

Nothing in this Policy limits any right or remedy you may have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.
