NearBuddy is created by NAMAVI TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, based in Kerala, India. NearBuddy is the company's first app — built on a simple promise: be honest, be transparent, and respect your privacy. We'd rather tell you plainly what NearBuddy does, and doesn't do, than over-promise.
NearBuddy shows you people nearby and roughly how far away they are — never your exact location, only an approximate distance. Someone you connect with could be surprisingly close: across town, or just around the corner. You choose the distance range you're comfortable with, and your precise whereabouts always stay private.
Discovering people, liking, matching, and messaging are all part of the free experience. There's no paywall standing between you and meeting someone.
How it works
On many dating apps, seeing who's interested in you costs extra. On NearBuddy, it doesn't. The people who liked your profile show up for free — so you can decide who to connect with, on your terms.
When you and someone else like each other, you're connected — and a private conversation opens up between you. Messaging begins only when you both say yes, so your inbox stays for the connections you actually chose.
Your NearBuddy account is anonymous. No phone number, no email address, no password, no one-time code, no identity check — just you, meeting people, without giving away who you are. Because accounts are anonymous, we're also upfront that a lost or deleted account can't be recovered.
We collect as little as possible, and we don't misuse, sell, or unnecessarily share your data. NearBuddy's free experience is supported by ads, which you can remove with the optional Ad-Free Subscription. Photos have their embedded location (EXIF/GPS) data removed, any face detection used to prepare a photo happens on your device, and NearBuddy doesn't use background location. We never collect or store your card or bank details.
NearBuddy is strictly for adults 18 and over, with clear Community Guidelines and Child Safety Standards that everyone must follow. You can Block or Report anyone, at any time. We're also honest about the limits: NearBuddy doesn't verify every person or monitor every message, so your own judgement matters — and our Safety Information is there to help you meet new people more safely.
NearBuddy is free to use. There's also an optional low-cost subscription called Ad-Free, priced modestly — roughly the cost of a tea, a coffee, or a bar of chocolate. What it includes is shown in the app when you subscribe. It's billed only through Google Play or the Apple App Store, the current price is always shown before you buy, and NearBuddy never collects your card or bank details — with no charge sneaking up on you.
